Innovative and Practical Training for Family Carers

When someone you love is diagnosed with dementia, every part of life shifts overnight. All of a sudden you're balancing appointments, managing medications and shouldering worries you never anticipated. We see the reality: family carers are at the heart of dementia support and your care is intense. Our dementia care training isn't just about knowledge, it's about empowering you with practical skills and emotional support to use in the moment

If you're tired of death by PowerPoint presentations and reading endless pages of theory that don't work in real life, why not learn some some tried and tested, simple and practical techniques that can transform how you support and interact with your loved one living with dementia? The result is likely to be less stress and frustration for you and a reduction in distress for the person you're supporting.

Dementia Training UK exists to help you feel confident and compassionate in your care, rooted in the unique Positive Approach to Care® (PAC™) and our person-centred ethos. Whether you need advanced skills or simply want reassurance, we are here to offer a supportive community, proven coping strategies and guidance you'll trust as you become the expert in anticipating your loved one needs.

You're Not Just Learning, You're Healing

Dementia Training UK is about more than facts, it's about transforming fear into confidence and confusion into compassion. Our person-centred, professional approach goes beyond traditional dementia awareness training. We focus on the abilities that remain, not those that have been lost, helping you see your loved one's strengths and working with them.

Instead of just offering advice, we walk with you, helping you better understand the brain changes in dementia and how you can support yourself and your loved one, emotionally as well as practically. Learn, heal and feel supported every step of the way.

Led by Someone Who Understands

An expert by lived experience

All of our dementia care training is delivered by Marion Harrington, a PAC™ Certified and Licensed Independent Dementia Educator and most importantly, a family carer herself. Marion has spent years as a professional live-in care partner as well as supporting her amazing Mum, who at 84 continues to care for her husband who's living with vascular dementia.

Having lived through the realities you now face, Marion brings not only accredited credentials and professional expertise but also true empathy and understanding to every session.
